The King’s Army of the English Civil War Society will be marching down the Mall in full funeral dress to mark the anniversary of King Charles I's beheading outside Banqueting House.
The Army will start out from St. James's Palace and turn left down the Mall (11.25 AM), carrying their arms and escorting a wreath which 'Remembers His Majestie's Horrid Murder'. This is the same route that Charles I walked on the 30th January 1649, when The Mall was still part of the palace grounds.
Once the Army reaches Horse Guards they will form up on the parade ground and hold a religious drumhead service, troop the Colour (their flag), administer an Oath of Loyalty, and present some awards.
They will then march through the central arch and stand opposite Banqueting House (12.20 PM), where the terrible deed was carried out on a scaffold in the street.
A wreath will also be placed by the equestrian statute of Charles I that stands at the top of Whitehall, by Trafalgar Square.
They will then retrace their route back to St. James’s Palace with drums beating and flags flying, giving great shouts and acclamations to their martyred King.
