Hotel accommodation on Bankside
Bankside is the area between Blackfriars Bridge and London Bridge on the south bank of the Thames. There are plenty of good quality 3 and 4-star hotels in this area, and because they’re on the wrong side of the river they’re usually quite a bit cheaper.
Local attractions include the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe. You can also have a nice stroll along the river to the Southbank Centre and London Eye. If you don’t mind the exercise then it’s quite a nice walk past the Shard and Borough Market to Tower Bridge as well, and it’s only a short distance to St. Paul’s across the Millennium Bridge.
