If you're staying in London for a while then how about a day trip to three of England's most-popular locations: Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle?

Your day will start by boarding a comfortable coach for a drive to the medieval Warwick Castle (1 hour 30 mins, entry fee included). You'll be able to see its magnificent ramparts, climb the staircase to the Princess Tower, explore the lavishly decorated State Rooms and 17th-century Great Hall, before heading down into the 14th-century dungeon. You can also have a walk through its pretty gardens and maybe see some falconry, jousting, and archery (events only take place during the summer).

Then you'll head to Williams Shakespeare's birthplace at Stratford-upon-Avon to see his half-timbered Tudor home which is amazingly still standing (1 hour 30 mins, entry fee included).

This will be followed by a scenic drive through the picturesque Cotswolds to the ancient university town of Oxford, where you'll be given an audio guide explaining some of the city's history and be let loose to walk around the 'City of Dreaming Spires' yourself (1 hour 30 mins).

Some of the highlights in the cobbled streets of Oxford include the ancient Bodleian Library, Ashmolean Museum, Trinity College and Christ Church College, which featured in several Harry Potter movies.
