This major new exhibition at the King's Gallery will showcase one of the most important surviving collections of Holbein's work, and include his drawings, paintings, miniatures and book illustrations.
When Holbein arrived in England he was in search of work, but by the time of his death he was recognised as one of the most talented artists in Europe.
He quickly earned Royal favour and painted the portraits of Henry VIII and leading figures of his family and court, including Anne Boleyn and Sir Thomas More, bringing us face-to-face with some of the most important people of 16th-century England.
Evening Standard: ★★★★★ "Dazzling"; The Sunday Times: "A wondrous show"; The Telegraph: "Holbein's evergreen drawings prove what an all-time great he was"
