Explore over 100 years of intrigue from the First World War to the present day at the Imperial War Museum's must-see exhibition about deception and espionage.
The exhibition will include over 150 objects that tell the story of audacious plots that have changed the course of conflicts around the world, and also how they were uncovered, and the costs of being both deceiver and the deceived.
Highlights include the story of Noor Inayat Khan, a female wireless operator who was sent into occupied France during the Second World War. Khan successfully transmitted messages to London for four months, before she was eventually arrested and executed by the Germans.
And then there's the famous story of Operation Mincemeat... the Second World War plot to plant a dead body with fake military documents off the Spanish coast, in an effort to fool the Germans about the location of the next assault. The exhibition will include objects from the actual operation, including the mastermind's own private papers and a dinghy's oar from the submarine which deposited the body.
