Your comments and questions

Clare Is there any lockers at the station to leave a bag before I check in to my hotel? I don't want to carry it around until 2 pm

Staff Hi Clare. Not at the station, no. If it was me I would ask the hotel if you can drop off the bag in the morning, because most places have a luggage room. Or you could try a few of the companies listed on here, because you might be able to leave it at a local shop instead - city-guide.london/transport/left-luggage-bag-storage.php

DD Is there a lift? I cant manage stairs

Staff Hi DD. There's no lift at Aldgate East. You have to use stairs to get down to the platforms, there's no way to avoid them

Sarah Can I take my baby’s pushchair into the train

Staff Hi Sarah. You can do, but Aldgate East might not the best station as there’s four or five flights of stairs down to the platforms, depending on which entrance you use.

Sarah What is the best station to use for pushchairs. Im staying at Ibis Shoreditch & have 4 days planned to London eye - Madame Tussaud’s - SeaLife - Shrek’s Adventure. Im also looking for the cheapest option as we are a group of 9. Thank you!

Staff You’re probably better off sticking with Aldgate East because it’s right outside the hotel, and Aldgate station and Whitechapel have got stairs as well. By the time you’ve walked to all the other ones you may as well just have tackled the stairs. Hopefully one of those 9 people can help you carry it down. Cheapest tickets are with oyster and contactless, but you have to pay a £5 deposit for a new Oyster card if you haven’t already got one, so contactless is usually better - city-guide.london/transport/contactless-cards.php

Kate Hi, is there escalators to the platforms or stairs? Thanks

Staff Hi Kate. Its four or five flights of stairs, depending on which entrance you use. Its all explained in a section above

Rini Hi, we are a group of 34 peoples and we will stay at the hotel near Aldgate East, and we will be arrived from Indonesia on the Saturday evening ( weekend ), is the any manned ticket office where I can buy the "7days ticket" for those all 34 peoples and if yes what is the closing time? If Aldgate doesn't have manned ticket office where is the nearest station that I can purchase them. Thank you

Staff Hi Rini. None of the underground stations have manned ticket windows anymore. You have to go to a National Rail station. the closest one would be Liverpool Street - city-guide.london/transport/trains.php?station=liverpool-street

Rini Thank you for the information. Is it means that I still can buy the "7days ticket" from the machine at the underground station ? Or What sort of tickets that I can buy from the machine ?

Staff You can load 7-day travelcards onto an existing oyster card at the machine. But you cant buy a brand-new oyster card at the machine. You can get oyster cards from the visitor centre at liverpool street station, and have the travelcards loaded on at the same time. The only other tickets you can get at self-service machines are 1-day travelcards and single/return journey tickets

Rini I see and thank you

Wendy Hi - I'm doing a tour and have been asked to meet the tour guide at Exit 2 of Aldgate East Tube Station. I've been told it's opposite Exit 1 but I'm still not sure 😬 Is it opposite the tube entrance which is on Whitechapel Road (which is just a short walk from Efys on corner of Brick Lane

Staff Hi Wendy. we’re pretty sure it comes out onto Whitechapel Road (are you doing a Jack the Ripper tour?) from memory the other one comes out into a subway which leads onto petticoat lane
