Your comments and questions

Andy83 What is the best Connection from the LCY to LHR? I have 3:30 hours time to get to LHR to Terminal 5, but I am not sure which is the safest and fastest route to go.

Staff Hi Andy. You need to get onto the Piccadilly line, which goes straight to Heathrow. There are loads of different ways of doing it, but you will always have to change trains at least twice. I would get the DLR to Canning Town, then the Jubilee line to Green Park, then the Piccadilly line to Heathrow. That should take about 1 1/2 hours (2 hours max).

BB Hi everybody! Is it possible to be refunded of the deposit of an Oyster at London City Airport, using ticket machine?

Staff Hi BB. You can do, but only up to a maximum of £10 (plus the £5 deposit). If you want more than that you have to do it on the TFL website instead - oyster.tfl.gov.uk/oyster/entry.do

Lesley Hi. Landing early morning at City Airport and need to be at O2 for 12 noon. Best way to get there? Keen to avoid taxi and do a bit of travel via bus or tube/DLR. Will finish at O2 around 5pm and need to get to hotel in Greenwich. Best way to get there? Only been to London once before and taxied from airport to venue but keen to be a bit more adventurous! Thanks Lesley

Staff Hi Lesley. The tube doesn't go as far as London City Airport so you'll have to get the DLR to Canning Town and then change onto the Jubilee line to North Greenwich, which is nextdoor to the O2 (literally right nextdoor). But you say you want to be adventurous... so you could get the DLR to Royal Victoria instead and then get the cable car across the river to The O2 - city-guide.london/events/?p=19138. The best way to Greenwich is by bus (129 or 188), otherwise you'll have to get the jubilee line to Canary Wharf and then the DLR to Cutty Sark. But if you want to be adventurous again then you could get a Thames Clipper from The O2 to Greenwich - city-guide.london/events/?p=28992.

Lesley Thanks for your reply. Quite like the idea of the cable car (have done that before when last down 5 years ago). So to clarify I can get the DLR from the City airport to Royal Victoria then get the cable car from there across to the O2? Thanks Lesley

Staff That's right, yes. Royal Victoria station is just across the road from the cable car terminal, and the O2 is about a five minute walk at the other end. But I should have mentioned before... the DLR doesn't go direct to Royal Victoria from London City airport. You have to change at Canning Town.

Lea Hello - last time I was at LYC I couldn't work out how to get a train ticket from the station to Stevenage. What was I doing wrong?

Staff Hi Lea. Part of your journey to Stevenage is on National Rail, so you'd have to get that ticket from a National Rail station. (Some London Underground stations are also National Rail stations, but not London City Airport.) The easiest thing to do is just buy your tickets on the official National Rail site in advance, and have them posted to you. You can get tickets for the whole journey from London City Airport to Stevenage from there - nationalrail.co.uk

Lea Thank you for the quick response above concerning ticket to Stevenage. so presumably if I buy a ticket on line, I can not print it at LCY either? (I live in Switzerland so posting here might not be an option. Otherwise I will use my oyster card to Kings X or St Pancreas and buy a ticket there

Staff No, you won't be able to print it at London City Airport. But like you say, you could just use your Oyster card to King's Cross and buy your Stevenage ticket from there. Or buy the King's Cross to Stevenage ticket from the National Rail website in advance (which will probably be cheaper) and then print it out at King's Cross on the day -- but check the details when you buy it, to make sure that's possible. they might give you the option of having an e-ticket on your phone as well

Anthony Kirkby Best route from Kings Cross station to City airport?

Staff Hi Anthony, get the DLR from Bank - city-guide.london/transport/train-journey.php?from=kings-cross-st-pancras&to=london-city-airport

CG Hi, can I also buy a train ticket with cash or do I need a card to pay for it? THank you :-)

Staff Hi, you can pay with cash at the self service machines (but some of them only accept cards - it should say at the top)

Sarah Hi, how would you get to Greenwich from London City Airport?

Staff Hi Sarah. You can just get the DLR, changing trains at Poplar - city-guide.london/transport/train-journey.php?from=london-city-airport&to=greenwich
