The Astronomy Photographer of the Year is an annual exhibition of the world's best space photography.

This year's panel sifted through 4,000 entries from all over the world and you can see the best of them on display at the National Maritime Museum.

The exhibition includes over 100 of the most awe-inspiring images from shimmering distant galaxies to silver stars and fiery suns.

The winners of this year's competition were Marcel Drechsler, Xavier Strottner and Yann Sainty for their mysterious deep space photograph titled Andromeda, Unexpected.
