If your kids enjoy reading the Horrible Histories books then how about taking them on a river cruise down the Terrible Thames?; They'll tremble in terror as they discover the horrible history of the most famous river in the world, learning all about famous characters like Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Julius Caesar, Queen Boudicca, Jack the Ripper and Captain Kidd.

Will they sizzle at the Savoy? Get gobsmacked by the Globe? Escape punishment at Execution Dock? ...just make sure they hold onto their heads at London Bridge!

Note: The boat is open on the top-deck so you can enjoy the sights as you sail down the river, but if it starts raining the performers will continue the show on the lower deck which is fully enclosed with windows.

And being onboard a boat the show is naturally a bit different to a typical Horrible Histories theatre show -- this one is only conducted by two actors, and they don't change into historical costumes whilst telling the stories.

Clara My 6 year old would love this, but serious concerns at the mention of Jack the Ripper .... what age is it recommended for?

Staff Hi Clara. Their official info says “All ages are welcome… however, please note the tour is best suited for children aged 5 and above” - terriblethames.com/faqs/
