Desdemona is the headstrong daughter of a senator, and Othello is a successful general. But as a black man he struggled to rise to the top of a white world.
His jealous rival Iago starts manipulating events to corrode not only Othello's reputation, but also his sanity. His dastardly schemes fuel Othello's paranoia and he starts to turn on the only person in the world who actually wants to help him: his wife.
