The Design Museum will be hosting the first major UK exhibition that explores the evolution of skateboards from the 1950s to the present-day.
Skateboard will follow the design of skateboards from their humble, homemade beginnings to today's technologically advanced models.
On display will be 90 rare and unique skateboards including Laura Thornhill's Logan Earth Ski model, Tony Hawk's first-ever pro-model, and the Sky Brown x Skateistan Almost Deck. You'll also be able to see skateboard components like wheels and tucks, and numerous VHS tapes, DVDs, magazines and other ephemera.
The exhibition will also feature a skateboard ramp, offering skaters an opportunity to become part of the exhibition experience. Users aged 16+ will be able to book a one-hour session which gives access to the exhibition on the same day. (Note: The ramp is open for skateboards only, not rollerblades, scooters or bikes.)
