Peak and off-peak journey times
For Oyster and contactless off-peak is outside the hours of 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and 4 PM-7 PM (Mon-Fri). For travelcards off-peak is any time after 9.30 AM (Mon-Fri). Weekends and public holidays are always classed as off-peak. Note: Between the 8th March and 31st May 2024 TFL are running a trial called ‘Off-Peak Friday Fares’, where Fridays will be classed as off-peak all day.
The train fare is based on what time your journey begins. It doesn’t matter what time your journey ends.

Staff Hi Peter. If you mean the last train then it depends what line you want, and what direction you're travelling in. If you put in your destination in the tube journey planner above, it should bring up the Sunday timetable
John Can you change to one of the other lines that goes through barbican tube station and other similar stations with more than one line going through it. As i know you can change lines where there are white circles on the tube map
Staff Hi John. You can do, yes. You can swap between the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammmersmith & City lines. Depending on what change you're making it might even be from the same platform (you can see the platform numbers in the 'next train' timetable box above)
John Ok thks...so on the tube map where theres a station shown as a line sticking out, and not a circle on the actual tube line on the map, eg Angel tube station,you cant change to another line can you?
Staff Normally, yes, because those stations usually only have one line running through them. I suppose they should really put the interchange circle on stations like Barbican - I don't know why they don't. If there are two lines running through a station then you can always change between them (although sometimes you might have to exit the station, walk along the street, and go in another entrance, like at Canary Wharf and Paddington).
John Yeh i see what you mean , that was going to be my next question ,why is there not a white circle on barbican and similar with more than one line going through,as you have 3 stations running through it. I guess where theres only a line sticking out on the map and not a cirlce, its either for me to get off at ,or go back the other direction if needed, to where i came from but on the other side of the platform as all stations go two ways, or travel en route to a station where i can change to another line.?
Staff Apparently it's all to do with changing routes, rather than changing tube lines. if you change trains at Barbican then you still only have the option of going to the same stations forward and back. but if you change trains at somewhere like Holborn, then you can change onto a completely different route going to completely different stations.
John I notice though that you can travel from barbican to an interchange station eg moorgate,liverpool street,ans tge other wayto euston square Whats the difference between internal interchange stations and interchange stations?
Staff Not sure what you mean, but at Moorgate you can change onto a completely different route - jumping onto the Northern line and heading towards Old Street, for example. And the same with Liverpool Street, you can jump onto the Central line. At Barbican and Euston Square you can change tube lines, but you can't change the route - the train will still be going to the same stations forward and back
John Oh ok..it looks like to me that you can travel from barbican to moorgate and get on the black northern line at moorgate. Or from barbican to liverpool street to then get the red central line.

Staff Hi Karen. You just cross over and walk down Beech Street, turning right into the Barbican Centre. It's about a 10 minute walk
