Your comments and questions

Pelawat Hi. Just want a confirmation. I can just buy Oyster Visitor pass at Heathrow Airport and use it immediately right?

Staff Hi Pelawat. You can't buy a Visitor Oyster card at Heathrow, only the normal blue Oyster cards (but they are basically the same thing anyway). But yes, you can start using it immediately as long as you put some credit on it.

Pelawat That means in order for me to purchase visitor pass via online transaction ONLY and the card then will be posted to my house? That's the only way?

Staff It's not the only way, but yes, that's probably the easiest way if you're flying in to Heathrow. But the blue Oyster cards really are the same thing. They work in exactly the same way. Check out the Visitor Oyster Card page for the minor differences - city-guide.london/transport/visitor-oyster-cards.php

Gayan I will be visiting London recently. I want to travel from Heathrow terminal 4 to Clapham South. I found that Heathrow is in zone 6 and Clapham is in zone 2. How will my fare be calculated? I found that I have to change the train on the way.

Staff Hi Gayan. The journey goes through zone 1 as well, so you will have to pay a zone 1-6 fare. It doesn't matter that you have to change trains. As long as you don't pass through any barriers when you change trains (which you shouldn't have to), then it will only be counted as one journey.

Dan Bayol Hi, is it possible to travel from Heathrow airport to Holiday Inn Bloomsbury by the standard tube? Thank you

Staff Hi Dan. You can do, yes. You can get the Piccadilly line all the way from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Russell Square

Nebu Hi Good Morning, I am arriving to T4 (LHR) with my family as visitor, I need to travel to Victoria, can I buy Oyster card from T4, if, which card suites me best, a normal Oyster card or a visitor Oyster card? Can I start my journey from T4 with an Oyster card? I intend to spend 2 nights inside London so how much should I charge.

Staff Hi Nebu. You can't buy a Visitor Oyster card at Heathrow so you'll have to get a normal blue Oyster card, but they are basically the same thing anyway. You can use it from Heathrow. How much credit you put on it depends on how many journeys you're making over the 2 nights. The maximum you'll pay each day is the 'daily cap' for the zones you want to pass through. So from Heathrow it will be zones 1-6, For the other days it will probably just be zone 1.

Tony P If I stay at a Hotel overnight near T4, can I get from T4 to T5 for 7am the next day

Staff Hi Tony. You can't get the tube to T5, but you can catch the 482 or 490 bus which both start about 4 in the morning. The journey takes about 15 minutes.

Jacklyn Is there a direct train from Heathrow Terminal 4, without changing, to Temple Mead Station, Bristol?

Staff Hi Jacklyn. No, the Bristol trains go from Paddington so you'd have to get the elizabeth line there first - city-guide.london/transport/train-journey.php?from=heathrow-terminal-4&to=paddington

Jacklyn Can I get a bus/coach from Heathrow Terminal 4 to Temple Meads Station, Bristol? Where should I buy the ticket? Will it be direct to Temple Meads Station?

Staff There are lots of different coach companies. where it stops will depend on who you book it through. you can try a site like national express, for example - nationalexpress.com/en/destinations/bristol/heathrow-to-bristol

Freddy Hi. How frequent are trains to heathrow t4 to t5

Staff Hi Freddy. if you put your destination into the ‘Tube journey planner’ above it will bring up the timetable
