Your comments and questions

KM Is there no direct line to Piccadilly Circus?

Staff The stations are on different tube lines, so you can't go direct. Personally I would just walk it from Embankment, it's not far. You could have a nice 10-15 min walk through Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square.

Andrzej Is the price for the contactless the same for the journey or is it cheaper to use Oyster

Staff Hi Andrzej. Oyster and contactless are the same price

KC Is there a lift?

Staff Hi KC. No, it’s just stairs and escalators, depending on which entrance and platform you use. It’s all described above

CAROLE MANSER How many stairs are there between the northern line and the district and circle lines at enbankment station please

Staff Hi Carole. It’s two escalators and 6,15,15 stairs

PETER TERRY Is Embankment station open this Thursday the 11th of Noveber

Staff Hi Peter, yes. There are no engineering works scheduled for that date

Shirley Carle Is Embankment shut on Sunday 28th November

Staff There’s nothing planned for that date - city-guide.london/transport/strikes-and-station-closures.php

Ali lloyd If I am coming from Ealing Broadway to Embankment and back, can I use the stairs? I am very scared of using escalators ! Thank you!

Staff Hi Ali. You have to use the stairs from the district line platforms, you can’t use escalators. it’s all explained in the ‘platform stairs’ section above

Ali Lloyd Hi i hope you can help me! I am very phobic about using escalators these days! - sounds silly but very scary! I need to use the tube to Embankment station on the district line from Ealing Broadway and back, tomorrow. Can you reassure me that I won’t have to use any escalators at the embankment station and when travelling to and from the station on the circle line ? Will I be able to use the stairs? Thanks so much! Ali Lloyd

Staff Hi Ali. It's definitely stairs to the Circle/District line platform at Embankment. If you were using the Bakerloo or Northern line then that would be different, because that would be escalators plus stairs.

Judith Which exit should I use to get to the Jubilee bridge to get to Southbank?

Staff Hi Judith. Turn right when you come out of the gates to the Victoria Embankment exit. You'll see the bridge right next to you

Wendy McGuire Is there a lift at Embankment Station down to the Northern Line North Bound?

Staff Hi Wendy, No, its just escalators and stairs as described in the ‘Platform stairs, lifts and escalators’ section above

sarah I need to get to monument station from Hendon Central, so plan to get the northern line to embankment then circle /district to monument. I am travelling with someone who cannot really do stairs - please can you advise me what the station is like? do you have lifts to all platforms? do you have lift upto ticket hall entrance/exit of station?

Staff Hi Sarah, There are no lifts, you will have to use escalators plus a couple of flights of stairs, you cant avoid the stairs.

Jim Burlong Is there a good service to nine elms this afternoon please

Staff Hi Jim. They are currently reporting “Minor delays between Kennington and Battersea Power Station due to train cancellations” (it’s shown in the ‘London Underground delays at Embankment station” section above)
