Somerset House will be putting on a major new exhibition that explores the irresistible force of cuteness in contemporary culture.
From emojis and internet memes to plushie toys and things to eat and drink, it sometimes seems that cuteness has taken over our world. But how have all these adorable doe-eyed animals, chubby-cheeked babies, flowers, hearts, stars and sweets managed to gain so much traction?
Cute will bring together a selection of items from the worlds of art, music, fashion, gaming and social media to explore how cute culture has become so influential, revealing its extraordinary power and potential.
The exhibition will also feature a games arcade for all ages with a special spotlight on Hello Kitty, to celebrate the cute cat's 50th anniversary.
