The Royal Academy of Arts will be taking a look at the career of Angelica Kauffman - one of the most celebrated artists of the 18th century.

This major exhibition will follow her rise from child prodigy to her later life in Rome, and her position as a founding member of the Royal Academy.

Best-known for her celebrity portraits, Kauffman became one of the most sought-after painters in Europe and captured everyone from queens and countesses to famous actors and socialites.

She also became famous for her history paintings, where she focused mainly on female characters from classical history and mythology.
