The National Portrait Gallery will be putting on an exhibition of more than 150 vintage prints by Francesca Woodman and Julia Margaret Cameron - two of the most influential women in the history of photography.
Despite living on different continents, more than a century apart -- Cameron worked in the UK and Sri Lanka from the 1860s onwards, whilst Woodman operated in America and Italy during the 1970s and beyond - both women used their creativity to expand portraiture beyond just recording appearance to suggest notions of beauty, symbolism, transformation and storytelling.
